Notice: Hello new and old readers and welcome to the new thread! Why is the title in asterisks, you may ask? Well, I've been meaning to start a new thread for FND and reformat slightly, including voting on a possible new time. My schedule is currently slightly up in the air, so we may want to find a new time depending on what works best for people. Please post here to suggest different times that work best for you, or if Friday evenings PST still are fine.
Friday* Night Dice is a weekly to semi-weekly game for anyone who wants to play or GM; it is a good way for new people to try the SW:MLP system or try their hand at GMing, and is open to anyone who wants to play. Totall new and inexperienced players are perfectly welcome to come and learn the game! Each player's experience total is kept track of, and any characters you make share that same total so you can experiment with different characters without having to start at square one each time. The game takes the form of a series of 1-2 session scenarios with various characters, based on who wants to play and can make it each week.
Signing Up (to play or GM): To sign up, send me a PM with your character build(s) and their backgrounds and I will help make sure everything is up to speed, at which point I will add you to the FND character register. Dates and times for the next game will be kept up to date here in the thread's OP. If you'd like to play a game, just post in the thread to tell me/the GM to expect you: please indicate what character you will be playing as well! If you would like to GM, please post about it here as well and I will make sure that it is indicated in the OP with all the correct information.
Important Information: The game is currently scheduled on Fridays at 6pm PST by default. As noted above, that may be subject to change based on when people can make it.
Rules and Houserules: Just so there is a good one-stop reference for everything, all FND games that I GM for will abide by the following optional rules and houserules/playtest rules/tweaks:

- Games are played over an IRC; SynIRC is the server, #ponyadventure is the channel.
- Dice rolls are handled on rolz.org, dice room is FND
- Out-of-character (OOC) chat is handled through Skype.
- Updated character register! (old one here)
Rules and Houserules: Just so there is a good one-stop reference for everything, all FND games that I GM for will abide by the following optional rules and houserules/playtest rules/tweaks:
- All optional Setting Rules in the SW:MLP 4th Edition book are in effect (Critical Failures, Heroes Never Die, Tenet Against Violence); see page 5 for full rules text for these.
- Shaken no longer works the same as in the SW core rules. When a character is Shaken they may still act on their turn, but they must still immediately roll Spirit to un-Shake as the first thing they do each turn. However, while Shaken a character must choose to either take an action or move and cannot take multiple actions except for free actions. In addition, you must direct any attacks (both physical and Clash of Wills) against the character who shook you (if applicable) OR the closest valid target. When you roll to become un-Shaken, on a success you are un-Shaken but suffer from the above restrictions for the remainder of the round; on a raise you may act normally right away.
