Beyond the Salt is my third SW:MLP campaign as GM, using the SW:MLP 4th Edition rules and loosely following the stories of Four Ride Forth and Lost Destiny. In it, the group plays a group of ponies who are charged with various crimes and transported to the penal colony of Ruddy Quay in a far-off land called Qualderwahl to serve their sentences and help settle the new land in the name of Equestria. How will the group learn to adapt? How will they come to terms with their past crimes? What secrets does the untamed new land hold? Oh man that first session was HYPE AS FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK 8-) I'm really looking forward to next week. It's not every game I contract an almost guaranteed fatal disease in the very first session, on my very first roll. I GOT A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS PLACE, GUYS!  (I'm still a bit sad the Governor never yelled at me, though.) |

You and Luna totally suck for implementing such an extreme punishment and letting your unholy Princess-turned-tyrant Twilight dole it out so willy nilly. And for such benign offenses, too! I mean, seriously! Breaking and entering? Murder? Over-reacting, much?! Thankfully, even though you and your totally sucky protege tried to make it as miserable an experience as possible by putting pony-Satan in charge as governor, your student's rampant abuse of power ensured that we weren't the only decent ponies to be shipped off to the shit-hole shanty-town on nightmare island. So even though both the pony in charge AND the environment itself is trying its best to indirectly murder us every second of every day, we at least have good company and ponies who will take care of us when we do things like stumble into them and then pass out in a pneumonia-slash-heat-sickness induced stupor.

Lilac Dreams is from a well-respected family with a tradition of being in the guard in her hometown of Manehattan. She was always an overachiever (pushed to be one), spent time in Filly Scouts and received top marks at Academy. A shame her dedication to her family's honor proved to be her undoing. A distant relative pawned off a precious family heirloom, and she happened to see it by chance. She tried to take less-than-legal action to take it back (it was theirs after all, she's just correcting a misdeed). Unfortunately the one she tried to take it from was well-connected, and decided to make an example of her. So what could've been a court martial and simple imprisonment ended up being grand larceny, and Transportation to Qualderwahl.
Currently, she is not very happy about what she perceives as slavery, something that she thought that had been out of practice in civilized countries for a long time. It's definitely making her reconsider her love for Equestria. She frames Governor Mensch as everything that is wrong with the system as well. She's decided so far to make the best of her seven years in Qualderwahl by helping those she perceives needs her help.
I believe instead of going the route I planned for her (getting defensive fighting stuff), I may invest in her Smarts, Spirit and Vigor, as well as bumping up her Healing and Nature, and getting the Healer edge, as she will be working for a Physician. She would pick up a few tricks as it were. I am retraining her Intimidation to Persuasion, since I can't imagine her using intimidation tactics. I also can't ignore her Grace, which is her main Contest of Wills ability.
